GE Healthcare’s Mike Lucas Recognized as Lifeline for Minority Businesses, Wins MMBDC 2009 President’s Award


GE Healthcare’s Mike Lucas was awarded the Michigan Minority Business Development Council’s (MMBDC) top award at its 26th annual awards ceremony, the 2009 President’s Award. Lucas has placed GE Healthcare in a position of prominence in Michigan and nationally through his work. He has embraced local minority businesses, recognizing the innovation and great benefits from participating in the supplier diversity effort of MMBDC.

Lucas joins previous Award winners including John Barth, former CEO of Johnson Controls and Dennis Archer, former Mayor of the City of Detroit and first African-American president of the American Bar Association.

“These corporations and individuals are the sparkle in our local economy because of the significant contributions they are making in these challenging economic times,” said MMBDC President and CEO. “Collectively through business opportunities and partnerships, they help sustain wealth and create jobs in our community.”
