Once the dust of the last recession settled, the financial services industry found itself going through a major transition. The operating environment was transforming into one in which consumers had more power, online services were intensifying competition, government regulators had assumed more oversight, and stakeholders were raising expectations about performance in areas like diversity, inclusion and fair access to consumer loans and business capital.
