Ask any business person to compare the current economic environment to a golf course, and it would probably be described as one big sand trap. Sometimes, the business environment seems to present one obstacle or trap after another – new government regulations, inflation, sluggish economy, lack of skilled labor, global competition and many others. During times like these, fairways seem obstructed and greens are anything but smooth, making for difficult decisions about the choice of club (business strategy) and the amount of force (effort) to put into the swing (marketplace).
